Each year, the Michigan Writers Cooperative Press sponsors a contest open to new writers for shorter works (chapbooks) in the categories of poetry, fiction and nonfiction. The contest is open now, and concludes on December 15.
Michigan Writers will host a book launch for the winner of our annual chapbook contest, Robb Astor, of Traverse City. Bitter Dagaa, a collection of 23 poems, is partially rooted in Robb’s experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the United Republic of Tanzania during the mid 1990s.
Short Story/Memoir – 750 word max. Poetry – 40 line max. Deadline: March 31, 2013.
After the sell-out success of the 2012 ‘Ticket to Write’ Beatles-themed final on new writing, the organizers are preparing a second exciting festival for 2013. At least one non-UK entry will be among the eight chosen for staging.
