In continuous publication since 1996, Dunes Review is Northern Michigan’s premier independent literary journal. We publish two volumes of poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction per year. Work originally published in Dunes Review has appeared in The Pushcart Prize: Best of the Small Presses series. Submissions are open to writers worldwide.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve changed up our launch readings for each new issue. Sometimes we hold in-person readings in our hometown of Traverse City, Michigan. Sometimes we hold online readings. Check on our Dunes Review Facebook page for reading details. Our submissions calendar can be found on Submittable and our Facebook page provides up-to-date information on each issue. We’re getting marvelous work to fill each volume. Submit! Read!

Dunes Review Public Reading on Saturday, October 18
On Saturday, October 18 at 7 PM, the community of Michigan Writers will celebrate the newest issue of Dunes Review, now in its 19th year of publication. The public reading and reception will take place at Brilliant Books on Front Street in Traverse City, featuring short readings from contributors.
